Stillingia Root is an herbaceous perennial 2-4 feet high with an angled stem, yellow flowers and tapering leaves. It is found in the northern and southern parts of America. The medicinal part is the dried root possessing astringent, cathartic, diaphoretic and expectorant properties. Stillingia Root is an excellent alterative acting primarily on the lymphatic system. As an astringent, it may be used in a number of conditions, most especially for hemorrhoids. Another area of application for this herb is in bronchitis and laryngitis, especially where it is accompanied by a loss of voice.
